Did you know that rooibos roots can extend more than three meters beneath the earth? Our roots in the Cederberg region and appreciation for the wider community run just as deep. It’s thanks to the farmers, workers, families and all the community stakeholders that we’re able to spread the magic of this special tea. We seek to recognise this whenever we can, both in the way we trade and through targeted “giving back” initiatives we believe in.
Tick Tock is proud to support Elizabethfontein Primary, a truly inspiring school situated in the heartland of rooibos country that serves around 300 students from the surrounding farming communities.
You know that the kitchen is the heart of a home. Well, it’s the heart of a school, too! Elizabethfontein Primary’s old kitchen needed a little love, so we funded a new stove and an upgrade to the facilities. The result: a happy hub, magic meals and much needed extra capacity. The school cooks love their “glamorous” new kitchen and have been cooking up a storm ever since!
Elizabethfontein Primary make no secret of their ambitions for mathematic excellence. We’re told our recent donation of 10 laptops is helping in this quest, with “enormous progress” being made on the maths program since the school received the new equipment. We love to hear it!
When Elizabethfontein Primary said it was raising funds for a school bus, Tick Tock was delighted to step up! The school’s troupe is renowned for its rieldans, a unique folk dance celebrated in the Western Cape, and – along with regular transport needs – a vehicle was needed for regional contests and performances.
With “Riel is in our soul” painted in large letters on the back, the bus is greeted with waves and cheers wherever it travels.
