We’re happy to announce that our Rooibos Vanilla Chai and Organic Rooibos Green Tea won gold at the 2014 Great Taste Awards! These two teas join our Honey, Lemon & Ginger in our Great Taste hall of fame.
Our Chai Relax Rooibos Tea is bursting with exotic chai spices like cinnamon, ginger and cardamom, plus fragrant Madagascan vanilla. The judges commented on the ‘perfectly considered spice blend’ and thought it made an ‘outstanding winter drink’.
Here at Tick Tock HQ we love a cup at any time – winter or summer, rain or shine, morning or night, every cup of Vanilla Chai promises pure pleasure!
The judges really loved the freshness of the rooibos in our Organic Rooibos Green Tea, and remarked on how cleansing it tasted. Our green tea contains nothing but pure, premium-grade rooibos – where it differs from our Original Tick Tock is in the treatment of the leaves – the oxidisation process that naturally occurs after the leaves are harvested is deliberately cut short by applying heat. This is what gives the tea its yellowy-green colour and its light and subtle taste.
The Great Taste Awards, known as the Oscars of the food world, are the most respected food awards scheme for artisan and speciality food producers and only the very best products receive the coveted Great Taste winners’ stamp. This year’s judges included MasterChef and Great British Bake Off winners, restaurant critic Charles Campion, Radio 4’s Food Programme presenter Sheila Dillon and buyers from Harrods and Harvey Nichols. You can see who else won here.
Let us know what you think of these two teas – we’d love to know which you prefer and why! You can tweet, instagram or facebook us!
