Does Rooibos tea contain caffeine?
What does Rooibos tea taste like?
Where is Rooibos tea from?
Rooibos grows in the ruggedly beautiful Cederberg coastal mountains of South Africa, a protected World Heritage site around 200km north of Cape Town. It flourishes in this area because of the unique combination of climate and the specific PH balance of the region’s well-drained, sandy soil -- all attempts to grow Rooibos beyond the magnificent Cederberg have failed. Do Tick Tock teabags contain plastic?
Like most UK companies, up until very recently we used teabags made up of natural cellulose from wood pulp and a small amount of food safe plastic fibres (1% of total weight). These fibres allow the edges to be heat sealed and stop the bags from falling apart. Happily, after many months of research and investment, we are currently making the change to fully plant-based, biodegradable teabags free from polypropylene and all other petrochemical plastics. As such, you will be able to put them in your Food Waste bin for composting by your local council. The change is being made across all our ranges, and we expect these new boxes to start hitting the shelves this October. In the meantime, if you would prefer an alternative to teabags, we do have Tick Tock Organic Loose Leaf Rooibos and Organic Green Loose Leaf Rooibos. As a small family company we are going to constantly work to improve our packaging further, and we see these changes as a first step in the right direction.
